Needless to say that the cooking processes are not just part of the old world charm, they are intrinsic to the taste.
I've been going to Shimla's for years. They are very well known for the Chicken Donner, but they do have excellent curries too. My one word of advice is if you eat inside and order a chicken donner, get it take out style. It makes a huge difference! They serve it with naan on the side and chicken sauces and salad separated on one plate. For me there are two problems! Firstly it gets cold quicker that way and secondly the elements of the dish separately aren't as good as it is all together. For example taste the chicken alone and it's not got much taste at all. Take out style is everything on top of the naan so all the flavours combined and it's much better. I recommend the Masala fish with mint sauce as well! And the Chocolate heaven milkshake is fantastic.
Bradford is know to be the curry capital & it's places like Shimlas that have helped acheive this if your going to visit you need to eat here been coming here for over 18 years and it's only got better over time.
